Language Arts

Checking out newly renovated library in our area. As it turns out, it had loads of all the books M, P, and R love to read lately!

Reading When the Woods Hum by Joanne Ryder and learning about cicadas.  Illustrating and writing about them.  Listing other words that begin with the ‘ci’ blend (such as circus, circle…).

Listening to Roald Dahl’s George’s Marvelous Medicine.  This author also wrote one of our favorites, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

Math and Logic

M is working on Sonatina in G Major by Beethoven.  P is reviewing Suzuki Book One songs in preparation for a Book One Recital.  The boys may have a combination book recital since M is almost done with Book Two.  They are working on 100 Days of Listening and continuing their 200 Days of Practice.

Both boys are beginning Note Speller Book One by John W. Schaum.

Gardening

Dad constructs raised bed gardens. We immediately planted them up with tomatoes, potatoes, kale, beans, carrots, lettuce…

Legos

Pokemon and Legos together at last! P created some functional Lego projects this week.

We’ve had a baseball game last week, but practices have been getting rained out.  We’re looking forward to upcoming birthday celebrations, family graduation party, and trip to the land.
