Historic Fort Snelling

We visited the Fort today and enjoyed Civil War Weekend activities.  Some of our favorite events:  canon firing, cooking demonstration, Morse code hands-on session, musket firing, infantry parade, and baseball game.  It’s going until 5 today.  There’s a mega-golf cart shuttle to and from the main building if you’re worried about the kiddos running out of steam before you get to the actual fort.

We also met the author of a book about the Civil War.  He wrote a true story about two elementary school kids in the same class whose great grandfathers fought against each other in the Civil War.

I can’t tell how proud I am because of all the wonderful well round education you show to your children. Wonderful life education for their adult life. And it is always fun to be the one who can discuss these information bites with friends and family. yeah, to Mom and Dad and children.
